Huffington Post Columnist Byron Williams Premiers Radio Program at WSNC 90.5 FM
Winston-Salem–Syndicated columnist and author Byron Williams brings his political and social commentary to WSNC 90.5 FM Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a new hour-long program called Public Morality. The show will make its debut on October 6th. Williams, who recently
moved to Winston-Salem from San Francisco, writes for the Huffington Post, is the author of “1963: The Year of Hope and Hostility,” and is a contributing columnist to the Winston-Salem Journal.
“We will talk about issues that matter on this show,” said
Williams. “One of the first topics will be North Carolina’s history of eugenics and how the state is making amends for the men and women sterilized against their will in the mid-twentieth century.”
The ideal for the show came about when after a chance meeting between Williams and Dr. Corey D. B. Walker, Dean of Winston-Salem State University’s College of Arts, Sciences, Business and Education. “Dr. Walker and
I had a conversation about ways that I could get involved with the University, and thought that radio might be a great opportunity. That’s when we reached out to Elvin”, say Williams. “When Byron approached me about doing a radio show with WSNC, I was ecstatic”, says WSNC
General Manager Elvin Jenkins. “He brings a great perspective to events and issues that affect us all.”
